Transforming Communities with Free Google Tools

Check out this article re: towns using Google tools to envision preservation projects. Any of you have success using Google tools in history projects? Know of local examples?

Our Premises

1. Public history enriches community and promotes positive social change.
2. Public history institutions (e.g. museums, archives, historical associations) compete against one another to obtain support from grant providers.
3. Digital history initiatives rank among those for which public history institutions frequently seek grant support.
4. Despite today's perilous funding climate, many of the basic tools needed to start and sustain basic digital history initiatives are free.
5. Public history institutions can/should seek out affordable ways to engage their publics digitally.
6. We can help with #5.
